Counterweight has no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no tracking across other sites.
Saved on your device
Your game in progress, your results and your streak are saved in your browser's storage so the game works when you come back. They stay on your device.
Anonymous statistics
To see how the game is used and make it better, your browser sends us anonymous events: when a puzzle is opened, started, weighed, answered, finished or shared, with the puzzle number, the number of weighings and guesses, and the solve time. A random ID, saved in your browser, lets us count returning players. We don't collect names, email addresses or IP addresses, and we use the events only to produce overall statistics, never to profile or follow anyone.
The events are stored by Supabase in London and deleted after 13 months. Under UK law this kind of statistical measurement doesn't need consent as long as you can turn it off, which you can do here at any time:

Error reports
If the game breaks, a report of the error (the page, the browser and what went wrong) goes to Sentry in the EU so we can fix it. Reports include no personal details and nothing is saved on your device for them.
